Excellent coverage. Thank you, Sebastopol Times, and thank you Congressman Huffman. I truly appreciate hearing it straight. I believe we will figure this out but hopefully sooner rather than later. We're losing our country bit by bit right out from under us. I've been working to save our nation for years and will work even harder now.

Thanks, Sebastopol Times. And the 'performance' by Congressman Huffman reassured me (not that I needed any reassurance) that we've got a good person representing us.

Very worthwhile read. Couldn't make the public meeting so this detailed coverage is very much appreciated. I am positively impressed by Congressman Huffman's assessment and comments. He is candid about his take on situations, I believe, and forthright about the limits and complexities of finding effective responses to them. I think that honesty is not only rare, but helps clarify the gravity of our current circumstances. One thing that is clear to me, we should be prepared for a long slog, regular disappointments and victory only with consistent and sustained efforts.

Another wonderful article. Thank you, Sebastopol Times! Demographically, I believe that Sonoma County is registered 51% Democrat and 24% Republican. Assuming that some percentage of the audience was conservative, I have to wonder how represented they felt by our congressperson and how welcome their comments would have been. Self-censorship is censorship, nonetheless.

Another outstanding series of articles from the Sebastopol Times. Huffman gave us the honest truth about what to do right now: everything. Write, talk with our neighbors, boycott, picket, petition, protest. We are learning in real time that our Democracy is much more dependent on rules of respect and norms of behavior than we ever imagined. When a small group ascends to power hell bound to break those rules and norms, the tool kit to respond is limited. What Huffman can do is limited.

That said, I sense there are a few ways we can show up that might begin to turn the tide politically, socially, and culturally. One, acknowledge legitimate concerns. For example I think we can all find ways that government could be leaner and more responsive. Two, create an agenda of inspiration. If we are always fighting against something, it is hard to engage others and stay motivated. Ukraine may be fight against Russia, but it is fighting for international rules of law, self-determination, the independent identity of the Ukrainian people. And finally three, we have to fight everywhere with everything we have in the spirit of love and humility. Yes I am angry with the Trumpublicans, but I am not going to berate or belittle those who voted for them. Compassion and non-violence are ultimately our most powerful tools.

Thank you for this coverage. I think Congressman Huffman and all Dems in Congress and the Senate should go with LIAR LIAR LIAR on their signs. It,s too subtle to do anything else! That subtlety in main media was a big reason why T was elected… the use of the word liar didn,t appear during the campaign until the end! Travesty.

Corrected & my apologies, and we certainly don’t need any further reminders of cowardly, complicit politicians.
