Figure Drawing for All Levels
Monday, Feb. 19, 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 South High St., Sebastopol. $25.
Join us on a bi-weekly journey of studying the human figure. Each class we will draw from a live nude model, with short and long poses. We will focus on gesture and capturing the fluidity of the body, rather than perfecting the form. We'll learn basic drawing techniques such as shape and volume, perspective, light and dark, expression, and composition. We'll use charcoal as our medium. This class is great for beginners who want to develop the foundational techniques of life drawing, and great for intermediate/advanced who want more life drawing practice. Reserve your spot.
Social Services Day at the Library

Visit the Sebastopol Library every third Tuesday of the month, where organizations come to you in one place to better support community needs. This week, we'll have VyncaCare (healthcare), West County Coommunity Services (housing help), Redwood Empire Food Bank (CalFresh and EBT sign-ups), Micah's Hugs (Narcan education), County Clerk Recorder (birth certificates), Registrar of Voters, and Ruthless Kindness (pet care education).
AARP Free Tax Prep

Camino de Sonoma: Sebastopol to Occidental walk
Thursday, Feb. 22, 8 am to 4:30 pm. Meet at the downtown square (Weeks Way) in Sebastopol. Reservation required.

Teen Fashion Sewing Lab and Beginning Sewing Class for Adults

Teen Fashion Sewing Lab is perfect for those who have a passion for fashion. Get ready to unleash your inner designer and learn the art of sewing. Artist Perspectives: Robin Dintiman

First Sebastopol Walk of 2024: Got Dirt?
Saturday, Feb. 24, 9 am to noon. Meet at the Downtown Plaza. Free.Â
Be a tourist in your own small town and walk where you've never walked before. This walk explores our relationship to the earth (meaning our dirt, not our planet). Sebastopol has hills and terra-formed hills that suit our infrastructure. Start by climbing the highest hill, and go down and elsewhere from there. 4-4.5 miles. One really steep hill. Some dirt trails. Passes through a cemetery. Leader: Sarah Gurney. Rain cancels.
Winter Burning Workshop Series

Understanding controlled burns is key to maintaining ecological balance and ensuring community safety amidst wildfires. In this two-part series we will be focusing on empowering participants with the skills and confidence needed to execute pile burning projects effectively. We Stand with Ukraine Benefit Lunch

Sebastopol World Friends is hosting this Ukrainian benefit lunch at the wonderful La Bodega Kitchen, with cuisine inspired by Babusya’s Kitchen, a Ukrainian cookbook. The $60 price includes lunch, tax, tip, and a donation to assist humanitarian efforts in Chyhyryn, Ukraine, our sister city. Make reservations here.
Concert for Peace with Qadim Ensemble Ancient Music of the Near East
Saturday, Feb. 24, at 8 to 11 pm at Subud Hall, 234 Hutchins Ave., Sebastopol. $30.
Qadim is a word found in both Arabic and Hebrew meaning ‘ancient’ as well as ‘that which will come.’ The ensemble’s repertoire includes Arabic, Jewish, Turkish Sufi, Hebrew-Yemenite, Armenian, Greek, Ladino, and Moroccan music, The musicians are out to create musical unity in a region of the world better known for division and conflict. In the process, they provide a gentle introduction into a vast realm of largely unfamiliar music. Get tickets.
Sebastopol Area Time Bank - Leap into the Party!
Sunday, Feb. 25 from 4 to 7 pm. Park at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 500 Robinson Road, and follow the signs to the party next door.
Sebastopol Area Time Bank (SATB) invites existing members and potential members to come to our free Leap Party Feb. 25 from 4 to 7 pm. We’ll provide yummy, healthy food and beverages, but in the spirit of community you’re encouraged to bring a potluck dish. There will be music and if you’re a musician bring your axe (musician-speak for instrument!). We’re also planning for some Karaoke, and there will be a White Elephant table so bring something you want to give away and take something home. 2nd Annual BlueGreen Gala
Sunday, Feb. 25 at 5 pm at Music to My Ears Theater, 104 N. Main St., Sebastopol. $40.
Up Street Music Patrons is a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to support disadvantaged students in music lessons and musical theater workshops. We also offer college scholarships to Sonoma County students pursuing a degree in any music genre at any accredited music college or university. This fundraiser supports the college scholarship endowment established to commemorate the music and work of Joshua BlueGreen Cripps. Enjoy refreshments, including Mishima Reserve American Wagyu Beef, a chocolate fountain, and much more, while listening to the music of the Tahoes and Therapeutx.
