Hi Arthur - I see your point, but on the other hand, I covered Mathew’s situation extensively in the past, and I thought Deb deserved a welcome article that focused on her rather than the unfortunate events in the past.
I have lived here 35 years and unfortunately the statement is NOT TRUE anymore ... “ Sebastopol, is this kind of 70s hippie vibe—the happy vibe.. I really love that essence [the hippie vibe]…it’s kind of a throwback and yet progressive at the same time.” There is NO HIPPIE VIBE in Sebastopol left at all.
Over the past 5 years, the greedy State Contract Developers employing Gavin Newscume's Un-sustainable Cities Program which has now "stacked the City Council", the school district , other city offices, etc.. over the past years with Developer Friendly VOTES. Now every street in the entire city is a "Interstate Highway" and the city council and police don't give a sh*T. They just keep voting for MORE and MORE of the same.
Now the entire city resembles "crime & gang ridden" INNER CITY OAKLAND, with gangs, violence, intimidation, threats, metal illness, disrespect for EVERY ORIGINAL SEBASTOPL CITIZEN, etc, etc.... the homeless are everywhere and CRIME through the roof as the SEBASTOPOL POLICE don't give a sh*t and ALLOW all of it to happen (with a smile at that too, lol :)
There was even a CHILD SUICIDE at Parkside School (ages 3-8) about 8 weeks due to reported bullying... but somehow the School District (got it out of the Press), so I suggest you and EVERYONE investigate this CHILD SUICIDE and it will tell you everything you need to know about WHO is running Sebastopol now.
As these people will be in youir LIbrary and you need to know who they are since you are not from here (another mistake in my opionion, as you do not know any of us who have lived here for DECADES.
Unfortunately, you will not survive here either, just like the rest of us OLD HIPPIES that have lived here for Decades and carried the torch for the 60's generation.

Huh, having lived in West Oakland, I can assure you that there is zero resemblance between Sebastopol and the rougher parts of Oakland. Not even close.

Sebastopol is now the WORST RANKED CITY in California and America based on my Global Company's "Hippie Friendly City Index" rankings over the past 2 years. My company is in every country in the World so I understand these things... and if the city goes even further deeper into the State Contractor Scam called "Sustainable Cities" run by the Governor's Office, the Mexican Drug Cartel and the Epstein Child Trafficking trade (if they are not already) then this will become a new model for the United Nations and Ther US Congress when I present to them later this year (which I am so looking forward too, lol!!! :)
As the WORLD needs to know about the clowns running this gang/crime/traffic ridden DUMP!!!!
And let's also discuss that poor CHILD's SUICIDE at and persistent BULLYING at Parkside School and the Sebastopol Union School District a couple months ago... that got "buried in the news" really fast by someone (who did this?).
Let's call them out during our TV Debate, plus I have some EXPERTS that will be willing to attend to address the specific issue as well. The wold needs to know what happened at Parkside School and why it was 'buried' by the school and media.
I have worked in Oakland for 30 years in Downtown. One of my companies has been involved in renovating many of the Downtown office and residential buildings between 1990-2019.
I know the city politics, developers, crooked DA's, cartels, gangs, drug traffickers, etc... so you can have your opinion, and I can have mine based on my personal Political, Business, Developers, DA, Crooked Politians (local/state) paid off by bythe Developers, State Agencies, etc...
