Help needed in locating at-risk senior Mark Sullivan
Sullivan, who suffers from dementia, was last seen walking through downtown Sebastopol on August 24
The Sebastopol Police are still searching for 70-year-old Mark Sullivan, who was last seen walking in downtown Sebastopol on August 24. He suffers from dementia and may have diminished cognitive abilities.
Mr. Sullivan was last seen wearing a white and brown baseball cap, a brown button-up shirt, blue jeans and dark colored shoes.
Captain Jim Hickey of the Sebastopol Police Department said the Sebastopol Police are continuing to search for Mr. Sullivan.
“We are searching the trails every day, still looking for him,” Hickey said.
Hickey said they’ve sent news of Sullivan’s disappearance to news and law enforcement outlets.
“We've talked to the Press Democrat. We've gotten stuff out to KZST. We've sent what's called a BOL—Be on the Lookout—to all the agencies in Northern California, as well as a Critical Reach Bulletin, that hits not only law enforcement agencies like Cotati PD and Santa Rosa PD, but also hits the park services and everything else with a full picture and bio of who they're looking for,” Hickey said.
Hickey said the police department is getting reports of two or three sightings a day. “Unfortunately, none of those have panned out,” Hickey said.
“He was very friendly and would talk to anyone,” said Sullivan’s daughter Erika Bordner. “He loved to work with his hands. I would just urge anyone to call the police if they think they have seen him. His family is very worried about him.”
If you come across Mr. Sullivan, please call your local law enforcement agency and advise them of his whereabouts so he can be checked on. You can also notify the Sebastopol police at (707) 829-4400.
