If it's true that these fires happening is "heavily dependent on weather conditions," then someone should check the bloody weather forecast on a day/week like this and get a clue that smoking out half the county during an oppressive heat wave is not a good idea! Or at least scale it down so that such a large area isn't burned all at once.

Isn,t extreme heat an adverse weather condition? What about wind patterns?

I would prefer notification from the agencies involved, not a notice on Facebook. What about nixle or similar?

It’s really not great public health policy to be allowed to create so much smoke in areas where most people do not have air conditioning…and do it during a massive heat wave.

Hard to imagine why, on a no burn, Spare the Air Day, there would be a controlled burn just adding to the already dense air from so much heat and no wind. Sorry that it could have been on a day in the next few weeks when temps are down and hopefully air quality improved.

The inmates seem to be running the asylum yet again.

There has got to be a better way of notifying us! I was thinking that the smoke was coming from the fire in Petaluma, but that didn't make a lot of sense.

Nice that these burns just when we have a spare the air alert. Think about that when voting.
