If you walk or bike the Rodota Trail from Sebastopol this weekend, you’ll notice evidence of a recent fire. The area of blackened trees and burnt brush are just a couple hundred yards from the beginning of the trail at Petaluma Ave.
The fire happened in the afternoon on Wednesday August 19. The Sebastopol Fire Department responded to the one-acre fire around 2pm. They put out the fire in 50 minutes, according to their Facebook account. Behind this area, there are industrial buildings, which did not seem affected.
Any info on how it started? Are there fire surveillance cameras along trail and elsewhere in the laguna?
