RoundUp: Apples, Apples, Apples
The Gravenstein Apple Fair, schools start this week, a new face for the Forestville Club, and more

A Day at the Fair
The Gravenstein Apple Fair kicked off yesterday in Ragle Park and continues through today with delicious food, cider, beer, wine and exotic libations, music, agricultural fun and apples, apples, apples. Our reporter Mark Fernquest checked out the scene and brought back these photos.

And here are a few more sweet shots from yesterday from the Gravenstein Apple Fair itself. The photographer for these photos was Travis Saracco.
Believe it or not, school starts this week

The Forestville Club is about to get a facelift
We wouldn’t be surprised if many Forestvillians are scratching their heads over the violent lime green paint job on the Forestville Club at the southern entrance to Forestville’s downtown. It’s not just the color, but the fact that one of the town’s beloved, older murals—a mountain scene—was painted over.
The good news is that the green paint is just the underlayer of what will soon be a fabulous new mural by Forestville muralist Amandalynn.
Wendy Flowers of the Forestville Chamber of Commerce applied for a District 5 Community Public Art Project Grant, and their “Gateway to Forestville” project was awarded $6,000 by Creative Sonoma.
Here are two mock-ups by Amandalynn of what the two, public-facing walls of the club are going to look like:
