RoundUp: Holiday Cheer
Dueling Christmas tree lightings, a light show, falling snow, and police logs
Christmas time is here.
To ring in the holiday, the annual Christmas tree lighting took place in the Sebastopol Town Square on Thursday night. It was a ball.
The event featured singing as well as stations with local merchants. Hundreds lined up to see Santa or have a seat in one of the Sebastopol Fire Department’s trucks.
The following night, on Friday, The Barlow held its own tree-lighting ceremony that also featured musical performances and merchants.
Miraculously, just as The Barlow’s tree was lit, it started to “snow.”
Winter Light Show at Park Side
Last Sunday, Dec. 1, the Sebastopol Union School District brought staff, families and students together for a winter show with lights, music and snow. Cookies and cocoa were on hand for a cold night.
Music teacher, Andy DelMonte, directed and recorded the sounds of student voices, which were ringing through the evening air. Did we say there was snow?
The SUSD Winter Light Show will run (without cookies and cocoa) until January 1 from 5:30-8:00pm each evening.
