I’m inspired to go see the weasels! Also to look at the proposed traffic options. The Sebastopol Times is a treasure. It’s important to support and subscribe.
I was hoping to find Nancy’s recipe for lemon sponge custard somewhere in the post. It looked delicious!
I was here before the current configuration; basically you could not make a left turn anywhere in downtown. The problem is traffic volume, full stop (as they say).
Although Fehr and Peers declared a winner, the people clearly preferred the Concept 1 alternatives which had more of the green stickers than any other. What were the votes? There are many issues which the study has ignored such as the complex Y intersection between Petaluma and Main St. towards the south of town and the additional red light cycles to support left turns on what would become two-way streets. Think of making a left turn onto Main from Burnet St. with two way traffic. People who have lived here a long time do not recall the two-way street configuration fondly. The people should vote on this issue!
Fehr & Peers didn’t declare a winner. I was just going on their data on vehicle miles/hours saved. I shouldn’t have used the word winner, as it suggests a decision has been made. I have edited the language to make this clearer.
I didn't see those numbers in the presentation. Saving 500000 miles even over a decade seems like a lot, it will bear more scrutiny. Thanks for publishing the article and reliably covering this an many other issues.

Thank you for your perspective.

They were in the slides in the presentation, but they didn’t get commented on and they were pretty small.
Love the story and pictures of the weasels. I had no idea and will try to be more observant. Also, thanks for the story about the Howling. Great idea!
I like 3B - except how would bikes get through?
So where's the lemon sponge custard recipe, Nancy? 😋
