Thanks for the uplifting story about Johnny Otis; but the news for the library is disturbing. I too admire our library as THE highlight in our frontier village. Annoying micromanagement especially when we continually vote money to that institution
Fantastic article on Johnny Otis. He was a legend when he moved to Sebastopol and added further to n that legend while he was here. He was Citizen of the year, led the Apple Blossom Parade, played several New Year’s Eve parties at the Sebastopol community Center, and his Saturday radio show was always an adventure. His son, Nick Otis still lives here and is the drummer with the Blues Defenders. Johnny also led a Sunday morning Gospel Choir at LBC for a few years. Great man. I still teach the Hand Jive to school kids.
