Sebastopol All Aglow
With a moonlit sky, candles and Christmas tree lights all around, young and old gathered on a cold night to hail the holiday season
The important news first. At the very end, Santa Claus arrived, standing atop a Sebastopol Fire truck and Vice Mayor Sandra Maurer turned on the lights for the tall evergreen in the plaza downtown. That was following the Sebastopol Ballet ballerinas dancing, Mr. Music and John Maas singing with their respective choirs, many lighting menorahs for Hanukkah, teens passing out candles and lighting them, and finally, the Chamber of Commerce’s Myriah Volk welcoming everyone and thanking Mary Gourley, the Interim City Manager for help with permitting and Vice Mayor Sandra Maurer joined by other City Council members thanking the Chamber of Commerce for hosting the event and the Public Works Department for setting up the decorations, all of which made this holiday celebration possible. A lot of people came out to enjoy it all.
