I can't believe I am going to vote "no" on Measure W. The daughter of librarians and teachers, I've never opposed a school or library tax. But with the firing of Matthew Rose, I cannot support the current administration. It's a relief to see how many people I respect feel the same way.
If the obvious answer is already a yes then why doubt your instincts?
Just because others outside of managing libraries or any other government agency think they know better than subject matter experts and create resonating talking points doesn’t mean you should go against your own values. Should we ever have to vote on this issue again? No! It’s what’s needed. Truth be told Santa Rosa subsidies all the other cities more than the cities will want to admit. Not a surprise considering the source. This community also wants more than it’s willing to contribute.

I agree with Jude. Plus I’m less and less a fan of taxes like this that don’t sunset.
Excellent essay. Thank you for this important information.
