Suspicious death in Sebastopol
A small apartment complex in south Sebastopol has been closed off all morning with crime scene tape due to a death in the building
Sebastopol police and investigators from the Sonoma County DA’s office have been at a residence behind 506 South Main Street in Sebastopol, investigating what one called “a suspicious death.”
The victim was a young woman.
The incident took place on the property next door to the Sebastopol Times office.
By eight o’clock this morning, there were already a half dozen Sebastopol police cars and Sheriff’s Department cars parked up and down the street around the complex, and yellow crime scene tape blocked both entrances to the building.
Grieving relatives and friends clustered in small groups on the sidewalk throughout the morning.
An investigator from the DA’s office said it’s common for small police departments like Sebastopol to call the DA’s office for investigative support in the case of serious crimes.
The Sebastopol Times has a call into Sebastopol Police Chief Ron Nelson about this tragic event. This is a developing story.
Anyone who has information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the Sebastopol Police Department at 707-829-4400.
I saw the street scene while driving so I very much appreciate this information.
