I love the ACLU, but I wish they wouldn't try to fight every battle, especially when there's an obvious downside to having this tied up in court: namely, wasting a great deal of funds sorely needed by a cash-strapped city that largely aligns with their values, while in the meantime renegade billionaires are working hard to undermine democracy and dismantle the federal government.

Why did the "libs" lose the 2024 election? Because of moves like this. And $500,000 and counting to respond. (Posted by a lifelong Democrat).

“Make it emphatic vote straight democratic” was an old slogan.

AcLu just trying to intimate and bully a small financial challenged city, hoping they'll fold so as to set a precedent. The city ordinance is more than reasonable for the few homeless while maintaining a city for the many. I'll never donate to them again or to Sonoma County Acts of Kindness

ACLU should be working on what is happening with Federal Civil Service. Some if not most of those RVs were a messy mess on the sidewalk. Keep the ordnance.

It's about time. Let them be for the love of god. Sebastopol is now full of people with wealth. And the vitriol against people who are just trying to have shelter is disheartening.

I've been here for forty-five years and this town has changed from people helping their neighbors to people wanting those who are down on their luck out of sight.

Sigh…

These people have sufficient funds to purchase their vehicle, pay, presumably for insurance and license and fuel, but not enough to live as society wishes. The NIMBY mentality feeds into the chaos of our greedy age.

Municipalities ignore inconvenient truths. These people need a place to park with power, water and sanitation. We need solutions not wishful thinking.
