This documentary takes you behind the scenes of everyday people, highlighting what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter – commitment, love for your community, and passion. Grange General Meeting: Learn about Land Trusts
Tuesday, August 29, at 6 pm at Sebastopol Grange Hall, 6000 Sebastopol Ave, Hwy 12. Free.
CommonSpace Community Land Trust Board President Darryl Berlin will share a presentation on “How do community land trusts create long term affordable housing?" at the next Grange General Meeting and potluck. You don't have to be a grange member to come, but coming to this meeting is a good way to learn what the grange is all about. Learn more.
Will Writing Workshop
Wednesday, August 30, 1:30 to 3:30 pm, at Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 North High St., Sebastopol. $100.
At this workshop, local estate planning attorneys Tate Birnie and Brittany Birnie Greene will provide a general tutorial about the following core estate planning documents: Durable Power of Attorney, Advance Health Care Directive and Last Will and Testament. Participants will be given the opportunity to complete California statutory form documents. Reserve your spot.
Peacetown at Ives Park
Wednesday, August 30, 5 pm to 7 pm, at Ives Park, Sebastopol. Free.
This week hear the Cajun stylings of Tom Rigney & Flambeau. A reminder to all to come early and set up your chairs, as the park will fill up quickly. We will have food trucks, beer, wine, and refreshments available, and some of our local non-profits sharing their services.
Russian River Valley Week at Region: Blind Wine Tasting
Thursday, August 31, 5 to 7 pm, at Region, 180 Morris St., Sebastopol. $30.
Get to know the defining characteristics and essence of The Russian River Valley. You'll be set up with tasting a flight of wines against other appellations within Sonoma County, guessing which wines are the classic RRV wines, as you enjoy a cheese grazing board with wines guided by the Region team and a certified sommelier. Chimera First Friday
Friday, Sept. 1, 5 to 8 pm at Chimera Arts & Maker Space, 6791 Sebastopol Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Stop by to meet your local community of makers, get a tour of the facility, enjoy some fine libations and food, and hear some great local music. The Old Blind Dogs at SCCC

Peacetown and the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center will present “The Old BlindDogs” from Aberdeen, Scotland on September 2nd at 7:00pm. This fine Celtic band has played at the Kate Wolf Festival for many years and was a staple at the Celtic Festival when it was in Sebastopol. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and are available for purchase at www.peacetown.org.
Sebastopol Farmer’s Market cooking demonstration: Dumpling demo with Big Spoon Sauce Co.
Sunday, Sept. 3. Market: 9 to 1:30 pm, Cooking demonstration: 10:30 am at the Sebastopol Farmers Market in the downtown plaza (next to the market info booth). Free.
Weekly certified farmers' market and live music at Sebastopol Plaza. Plus meet chili crisp queen and Big Spoon Sauce Company co-founder, Lani Chan, as she dishes out a dumpling demo at the Sebastopol Farmers Market. Lani will prepare homemade dumplings paired with Big Spoon’s signature chili crisp. Mushroom and meat samples will be available first come, first serve.
