Today is the last day to submit your entries! Use your creativity to paint an expression of love, kindness, equality, social justice, and inclusivity on Sebastopol's sidewalks. Share your idea by sending in a drawing on the form below. Those selected will be invited to a community paint party. Murals will be painted on sidewalks at the Senior Center, the Sebastopol Regional Library, the Center for the Arts, and Ives Pool. Submissions due Monday, Jan. 23. Download form here.
All About Strokes
Monday, Jan. 23, 2:30 to 3:30 pm at Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 N. Main St., Sebastopol. $5 for Senior Center members/$10 non-members.
Learn all about strokes. What is a stroke? How do we diagnose it? Are there different types of strokes? Discover the role of a hospital in treating strokes, methods of stroke prevention, (lifestyle, diets, medications), and rehabilitation. This workshop is led Dr. Allan Bernstein. Register here.
Understanding Episcopalianism
Tuesday, Jan. 24, 6:30 to 8 pm, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church (in the Parish Hall), 500 Robinson Road, Sebastopol. Free.
Thinking of becoming an Episcopalian? Rod McAulay, the former rector at St. Stephen's, will be leading a four-session adult formation class starting on Jan. 24. Enjoy dessert and tea, while learning about and discussing Church history, scripture and the sacraments, Christology, and culture and society. No need to register or RSVP, just show up.
Career and College Exploratorium
Tuesday, Jan. 24, 5 to 8 pm at Laguna High School, 7050 Covey Road, Forestville. Free.
This event will highlight all the different pathways to careers, with a special emphasis on SRJC certificates that students can complete within a semester or two. There will be reps for CTE/certificate programs, as well as college reps for UC/CSU/private colleges, plus local industry partners. Hear a presentation about different JC certificate programs and talk to the industry reps at tables, grouped by interest area.

Friends of the Sebastopol Library Book Sale
Wednesday through Saturday, Jan. 25-28, at the Sebastopol Library, 7140 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol
This sale includes books for adults, children and teens, including the newest fiction. Most children's and teen's books are 25-50 cents. The sale is open to all. No scanners allowed on opening night. Proceeds help Sebastopol Library continue its mission of providing great reading, wonderful free programs and fantastic services to West County. A Laguna Field Guide: An Artist's Take on Taxonomy – a presentation by Christopher Reiger

In conjunction with his exhibition of colorful Field Guide posters in the Heron Hall Art Gallery, artist, illustrator and writer Christopher Reiger will present a slideshow talk that provides more backstory about the Field Guide project's origins as well as the project's celebration and critique of taxonomy. Christopher will also provide a brief overview of some of his other art and illustration projects. Get tickets.

Imbolc Brigid Ritual

Join the folks from Milk & Honey in a celebration of the turning of the Wheel of the Year. In this ritual to honor the shifting of the seasons, call upon the Goddess Brigid to help guide the way and give tools for finding success in the coming year. Tickets for sale at the door only.
