Last day of the Sebastopol $500 Shopping Spree

Last chance to win $500 to spend before Christmas in your favorite Sebastopol stores. Grab a passport at a participating local store (most anywhere in downtown or at Sebastopol Hardware or Pacific Market), visit five stores to have your passport stickered and signed, and turn the completed card in at one of those stores by 7 pm on Dec. 19. Jewish Film Festival: ‘A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff’ and a Hanukkah candle-lighting

The Jewish Film Festival at Rialto Cinemas features the best international cinema you can't see anywhere else. There will be a celebratory Hanukkah candle-lighting before both screenings. Get tickets.
Sebastopol Times Holiday Social for Paid Subscribers

Are you a paid subscriber to the Sebastopol Times? If so, then you are invited to our very first subscriber event, a Holiday Social at Region in the Barlow on Tuesday, Dec. 20 from 4 to 6 pm. (Not a paid subscriber yet? Become a paid subscriber and then this invitation will apply to you too!) We will serve vin chaud, the mulled wine typically served in French markets at this time of year, plus appetizers, and pizza from Acre. You can also order wine from Region. This special event is in appreciation for those who became paid subscribers during the first year of Sebastopol Times. We reserved space for approximately 50 people at this venue so please RSVP to sebastopoltimes@gmail.com if you can join us. There are still a few spaces left, and we'd love to meet you in person.
Sebastopol City Council Meeting

It's committee night! Among other topics, up for a vote or discussion are appointments of local citizens to various city commissions, boards and committees; an informational presentation on staff and council committee appointments; and a proposal by Mayor Neysa Hinton on a new process for determining—yes, you guessed it—council and staff committee assignments. Winter Solstice Sound Bath

The Winter Solstice is the longest night of the year before the Sun begins to strengthen and shift into the new cycle. It leads us from the deep introspection of winter towards the light of rebirth. A time to gather in community and celebrate! Please bring a mat, blanket or sleeping bag, pillow, etc., to ensure your comfort. Arrival time is 6:30 pm; doors will close 5 minutes before 7 pm and no one will be admitted after that point so as not to disturb the guided meditation. Get tickets.
