City Council Special Meeting
Tuesday, April 23, 6 pm at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
Sebastopol’s water and sewer rates have not covered the costs of operating the city’s water and sewer systems since 2019-20. The council will also discuss the concept of hiring a Community Development Director to replace Planning Director Kari Svanstrom, who will be leaving on April 30.
Spring Birding with I’m Birding Right Now
Wednesday, April 24, 8:30 am to 11:30 am at 642 Willowside Road. By donation.
With spring comes an increase in noticeable bird activity as many birds begin to sing and pair up for their breeding cycle. Slowly meander along the mostly flat trail, winding through open oak savannah, grasslands, riparian woodlands, and marshes. All experience levels are welcome. Beginners are encouraged. The day will start with a tutorial on using binoculars and an introductory discussion about birding. Learn techniques for locating birds, what sorts of details to notice when observing a bird, species identification, bird vocalizations, and bird behavior and habitats. Reserve your spot.

The Future Club: a program for teens
Wednesday, April 24, 2 pm to 6 pm, at the Sebastopol Cultural Community Center, 390 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
Sebastopol Cultural Community Center (SCCC) is launching its first meeting of the Future Club, starting this Wednesday at 2 pm. Future Club is an after school program for teens ages 13-18, led by SCCC’s Youth Programs Coordinator. It gives teens a comfortable space to hang out, participate in art, dance, peer discussions, career prep workshops, and more. The club meets on Wednesday afternoons in SCCC’s Main Hall’s Green Room. It’s free to join, and teens can drop in anytime from 2 to 6 pm. Free food and snacks!
Apple Blossom Pre-Party
Friday, April 26, 6 pm to 9 pm at Ives Park, Sebastopol. Free.
Ives Park will transform into a glowing colorful Wonderland on April 26 for this free event, where inflatable sculptures by Astrobotanicals will create an Alice in Wonderland-like setting. There will be a DJ playing some tunes, and beer, wine and food will be available.
AWS Apple Blossom Art Show Opening Reception
Friday, April 26, 7 pm to 9 pm, at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. Free.
The AWS Apple Blossom Art Show is a longstanding feature of Apple Blossom Parade and Festival weekend. It kicks off with a free art reception on Friday evening. The exhibition runs throughout the Apple Blossom Festival.
Night of Illusion
Friday, April 26, 7 pm, at Subud Hall, 234 Hutchins Ave., Sebastopol. $10 at the door.
“Night of Illusion” will be the first in a series of shows featuring magic and illusion from magician Ray Hoey, along with a guest performer. This inaugural show will have guest performer Vixen, “The Forbidden Magician,” who will bring her unique combination of magic, dance and intrigue to the Sirens stage.
Cataquizm at SCCC
Friday, April 26, 7 pm to 9 pm at Sebastopol Community Cultural Center, 390 Morris St., Sebastopol.
The Sebastopol Community Cultural Center is debuting its brand-new trivia game night series: Cataquizm! Cataquizm! is an upheaval of your usual trivia night experience. You’ll still be with your team, you’ll still be answering questions, you’ll still have the opportunity to win prizes, but not in the ways that you’re already used to. It will be a really fun night. Entry fee is $10 per player, and your team can have up to eight members. Space is limited, but you can DM @quailiforniaent on Instagram with your team name and team size to reserve a table. Food and beverage options will be available.
78th Annual Apple Blossom Parade and Festival
Saturday and Sunday, April 27-28, 10 am to 6 pm. On Main Street and in Ives Park. Tickets: $10-20.
Don’t miss this ultimate small-town parade and festival. The parade kicks off 10 am on Saturday, April 27, down Main Street in Sebastopol, and the party continues in Ives Park for the “Blossoms in Wonderland” Apple Blossom festival, featuring incredible food, arts and crafts vendors, and an amazing musical lineup, including Sol Horizon and Wonder Bread 5. On Saturday and Sunday, the park will be a wonderland full of inflatable sculptures from Astrobotanicals. (We are talking 10-foot mushrooms, flowers and more!) Get tickets to the festival.
17th Annual Beer Blossom Festival at HopMonk Sebastopol

Will Marsh and The Integration Ensemble – World Raga Concert

The Integration Ensemble performs original compositions by world musician extraordinaire Will Marsh. Described as “Ravi Shankar jamming with the Buena Vista Social Club,” this live event features sitar, guitar, cello, saxophone, tabla and world percussion. Get tickets.
