18th Annual Bucket Brigade Blood Drive
Tuesday, Dec. 12, from noon to 5:15 pm at the Sebastopol Firehouse, 7425 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Help save lives at the 18th Annual Bucket Brigade event hosted by the Sebastopol Fire Department. The Bucket Brigade is a friendly competition among area fire departments to see which can hold the largest blood drive. Please support the Sebastopol Fire Department in this annual event. Lunch with a Council Member

Sebastopol Lights Parade
Wednesday, Dec. 13, 6:30 to 7:30 pm, on some residential streets in Sebastopol.
Lori Jay and friends and other folks from town decorate their cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors with lights and other decorations and drive slowly around Sebastopol’s residential streets in this fun, unofficial, holiday parade. Read all about it and see a map of their route here.
Laguna Stewards at Irwin Creek
Saturday, Dec. 16, 9 am to 12 pm. Meet at Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa. Free.
Join us this December as we close out the year by going out to a very secluded and peaceful preserve. As it's mid-December, prepare to enjoy some coffee and pastries as we learn about the history of Irwin Creek, plant native flora, and tend to a maturing riparian restoration site. Art Show Reception: Meet Artist Linda Kammer

Meet artist Linda Kammer, whose exhibit is currently on display in the library. Kammer writes, "A few years ago my dear husband was diagnosed with dementia. It filled me with grief. So to hold the grief, I began this series of paintings from my garden, from my surroundings, from what I could see from where I was. I thought the paintings would be filled with dark, murky shapes. I was and am surprised by the joy of loving well."
Sebastopol Nutcracker

Since 1992, the Sebastopol Ballet “Nutcracker” has grown to be a holiday tradition for Sebastopol families. The costumes are all hand-made; they have professional guest artists for key roles, and well-trained students shine on stage. Historic European Songs of the Holidays: A Choral Concert by The Old World Carolers

Dressed in 19th century garb, the Old World Carolers have been performing since 1985, building a repertoire to preserve hundreds of songs from throughout Europe. This is their 38th year in Sebastopol. Song sheets provided for audience to sing along to the European carols and holiday standards. Benefit for World Central Kitchen, a nonprofit which brings humanitarian food relief worldwide, and church charities.
Benefit Concert for Inter-Church Food Pantry
Sunday, Dec. 17, 4 to 6 pm, at the Community Church of Sebastopol, 1000 N. Gravenstein Hwy., Sebastopol. $10.
You are invited to an afternoon of performance, participation, and Joyful Noise in support of the Inter-Church Food Pantry. Join dynamic song leaders, composers, musicians and human rights activists Benjamin Mertz (founder and director of Joyful Noise Gospel Singers) and Melanie Demore (founding member of the Grammy nominated vocal ensemble Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir). Benjamin and Melanie will each offer solo songs as well as lead the audience in raising their voices for social and racial justice and compassionate community. One hundred percent of the donations will go to the Inter-Church Food Pantry housed on the St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church property.
