Sebastopol City Council Meeting
Tuesday, March 21, 6 pm, at Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol, or on Zoom.
There's a short agenda for the March 21 City Council Meeting, but given the topics on the agenda, it could be a long evening. Items include an application for zoning ordinance amendment request from the 421 Group, an existing cannabis manufacturing business located on Morris Street, to amend the City of Sebastopol’s Cannabis Ordinance to allow cannabis retail delivery within industrial districts. 2) Work Plan for Fire Services as recommended by the Ad Hoc Fire Committee. History Museum Tour
Wednesday, March 22, 10 to 11 am, starting at the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 North High St., Sebastopol. $5.
Meet at the Senior Center and walk over together to the Sebastopol History Museum. Meet Donna Pittman, director of the museum, at the Senior Center for a stroll down to the Museum at 261 S. Main. Enjoy our current exhibit about Sebastopol’s Marquees on Main! Discover what’s in the Boxcar and observe volunteers in action. Learn about the history of the Depot and have questions answered. Sebastopol Walks: Businesses Behind the Scenes
Saturday, March 25, 9 am. Meet at the downtown plaza.
Enjoy a lovely springtime walk around town, and get a private peek into the real workings of our local businesses. This walk includes behind the scenes tours and talks at the following: the studio of Patrick Amiot, Farm Fresh Clothing, Michael Anthony Bootmaker, Red Bird Bakery, JG Switzer, Goldfinch at The Livery, and Bohemian Stoneworks. How to Grow Your Own Mushrooms on Logs
Saturday, March 25 and/or April 1, 10 am to 3 pm at Green Valley Farm. $100.
This is a 5-hour workshop where you will tour MoonFruit Mushroom Farm, learn about the entire process of cultivation from spawn to fruit, practice inoculation techniques, and have a delicious meal featuring shiitake and furikake. The workshop will be held at Green Valley Farm, off Green Valley Road in Sebastopol. There will be a follow up email with more specific directions upon registration. Get tickets.
Hallberg Vineyard Tasting with DRNK’s Winemaker and Grapegrower

Join DRNK's winemaker Ryan Kunde and Emeritus Vineyards grapegrower Riggs Lokka for a special library tasting of Pinot Noir from Hallberg Vineyards. You'll taste through a range of vintages from 2012 to 2019, learning about the vineyard, variances in each vintage, and winemaking techniques. Bilingual Walk with Laguna Foundation and Ag + Open Space
Saturday, March 25, 5 pm to 6:30 pm at the Laguna de Santa Rosa Trailhead, 6303 Hwy. 12, Santa Rosa. Free.

“I Have a Dream” Concert: Berkeley’s La Peña Chorus visits Sebastopol Community Harmonia Choir. $10.

The La Peña Community Chorus from Berkeley will join Sebastopol’s Community Harmonia Choir in a spoken word/piano/choir of songs and a presentation by composer John Maas of a dramatic reading of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech by Benjamin Mertz, director of the Joyful Hope Gospel Singers, specializing in music of the Black Spiritual tradition. Sufi Whirling Workshop
Sunday, March 26, 2 to 5 pm, at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. $50.
In this afternoon, move through some basic principles and taste the ecstatic experience of Sufi whirling. Hear mystical poetry and join in short discussions about Sufism, for context and inspiration. This event is open for everybody in all levels of experience. Whirling is a physical practice that uses body movements and chanting to open the heart. Come with an open heart, wear comfortable clothing for movement, and bring socks. Get tickets.
