Memorial Day Ceremony
Monday, May 27, 11 am, at Sebastopol Memorial Lawn, 7951 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Sebastopol Veterans of Foreign Wars (Post 3919) will be having an 11 am ceremony on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, at the Sebastopol Memorial Lawn cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Sebastopol Veterans Building (282 S. High St., Sebastopol). We welcome all who want to come pay tribute to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Ceremony will include music from the Sebastopol Community Band.
Home Gardener Produce Exchange
Tuesday, May 28, 5 pm to 5:45 pm, at the Sebastopol Grange Hall, 6000 Sebastopol Ave. (Hwy. 12), Sebastopol. Free.
Bring your surplus produce and flower and vegetable starts to swap with other home gardeners or to donate (We will bring excess produce to our local food pantry after the produce exchange.) Learn more.
Grange monthly meeting with presentation on beekeeping
Tuesday, May 28, 5:30 pm, at the Sebastopol Grange Hall, 6000 Sebastopol Ave. (Hwy. 12), Sebastopol. Suggested donation $10.
Everyone is invited to join grangers and friends at their monthly general meeting. Come for social time starting at 5:30 pm, followed by a potluck dinner, music, and a presentation. The Grange will provide Himalayan food as the centerpiece. Please bring food to share and your own dishes and utensils. Carol Ellis and Kelli Cox from the Sonoma County Beekeepers Association will discuss how the organization has evolved from being a small club of beekeepers discussing their apiaries to a large nonprofit association educating the public about how to support all the native bees and pollinators in Sonoma County.

Focus Group on Social Isolation
Thursday, May 30, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, at Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 N. High St., Sebastopol. Free.
Gravenstein Health Action Coalition would like to meet and talk with West County residents who 1) recognize that in times of emergency (like an earthquake, flood, or fire evacuation) you may not have a support network to help you do what you need to do; 2) think there may be support services or community groups (medical, social, emergency, etc.) that you are unaware of that may benefit you; or 3) feel isolated for any reason or in any way. There will be coffee, tea and snacks. Your input will help Gravenstein Health Action identify gaps in awareness and access to community support, aiming to reduce isolation and improve community resilience in times of crisis.
Spring Birding with I'm Birding Right Now
Thursday, May 30, 8:30 am to 10:30 am, at 625 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa. Free.
With spring comes an increase in noticeable bird activity as many birds begin to sing and pair up for their breeding cycle. We’ll slowly meander along the mostly flat trail, winding through open oak savannah, grasslands, riparian woodlands, and marshes. All experience levels are welcome. Asian American Pacific Islander Film Fest
Friday, May 31, 1 pm to 5:30 pm at Sebastopol Library, 7140 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Sebastopol Regional Library will host two Kanopy films featuring the contributions and humanity of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders: “Halving the Bones,” Author Ruth Ozeki's Autobiographical Film (2015) and “The Slanted Screen: Hollywood’s Representation of Asian Men in Film & Television” (2006). Barlow Tasting Tours
Saturday and Sunday, May 30-31, 11:30 to 1 pm, at the Barlow, 6770 McKinley St., Sebastopol. $89 per person.
This tasting tour showcases the specialty food and wine offerings of The Barlow, from handmade English cheese to classically foot-stomped wine. The tour will last 90 minutes and consist of seven stops, with multiple tastes and sips along the way. Reserve your spot.
Rialto free family matinee: The Wizard of Oz
Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 11 am, at the Rialto Cinemas, 6868 McKinley St., Sebastopol. Free.
Young Dorothy Gale and her dog Toto are swept away by a tornado from their Kansas farm to the magical Land of Oz, and embark on a quest with three new friends to see the Wizard, who can return her to her home and fulfill the others’ wishes. Learn more.
Art at the Source Open Studios
Saturdays and Sundays, June 1-2 and 8-9, 10 am to 5 pm, at studios around Sonoma County. Free.
Art at the Source was launched more than 30 years ago by a handful of passionate people — and it is still going strong. Held every spring, this program supports established and emerging artists. Open studios offer a chance to engage and connect with the artists themselves, and it's easy and fun to do. See the Art at the Source guide to open studios.
Art in the Garden
Saturday and Sunday, June 1-2, 10 am to 4 pm, at 270 Virginia Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Local art show with a variety of artists in downtown Sebastopol. Ceramics, painting, soaps, diaries, tiles, nichos boxes, indoor and outdoor art, also indoor and outdoor bulbs.
