Sebastopol Grange Home Gardener Produce Exchange/Donation
Tuesday, Aug. 26, 5 pm to 5:45 pm, Sebastopol Grange, 6000 Sebastopol Road (Hwy. 12), Sebastopol. Free.
This is an opportunity to trade surplus items from your garden for something you don’t have. You may also bring produce that you have gleaned (with permission of course) from a neighbor’s yard. Master Food Preservers will be on hand at the Produce Exchange/Donation events to answer questions, and new this year, they will provide recipes and samples during tabling. In addition to produce, plant starts will also be shared and traded.
Kevin Russell’s Great Big Birthday Party at HopMonk Sebastopol
Wednesday, Aug. 27, 6 pm to 8:30 pm, at HopMonk Tavern, 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
This will be a once in a lifetime show featuring band members and friends from The Familiar Strangers, The Real Deal Friends, The Rhythm Rangers and more. They’ll be playing bluegrass, folk, country, western swing, blues and rock n roll! So, put on your dancing shoes, tune up your ears for music that will bring a tear to your eye and/or get you up on your feet moving your body.
Special Meeting of the Sebastopol City Council
Tuesday, August 26, 6 pm, at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
California Government Code Section 36513 requires that a councilmember’s office becomes vacant if they are absent from regular council meetings for 60 consecutive days without permission from the City Council. Vice Mayor McLewis has been unable to attend recent meetings due to medical reasons. The Vice Mayor has requested that the City Council formally authorize these absences to preserve her ability to continue serving on the City Council during this period of medical recovery. She is also requesting to possibly be excused from two more meetings in September. See agenda and documentation here.
Sebastopol Grange General Meeting, potluck and vermiculture presentation
Tuesday, Aug. 26, 6 pm to 8 pm, at the Sebastopol Grange, Sebastopol Grange Hall, 6000 Sebastopol Ave. (Hwy 12). $10.
Everyone is invited to join Grangers and friends at their monthly general meeting. Come for social time starting at 5:30 pm, followed by a potluck dinner, music, and program. The Grange will serve Chinese dumplings, veggie and chicken, made by Annie Ke, and curry from Namaste Kitchen. Please bring Pacific Rim-compatible food to share (lovingly labeled), and your own dishes and utensils. Presentation: Have you ever wondered about the wild, wiggly world of worms, or vermiculture? Into to Ki Aikido & Mindful Movement

Discover how mind-body coordination can bring calm, clarity, and balance to everyday life. Instructor Bill Phillips leads a free two-hour introductory workshop for adults in Ki Development and Ki Aikido most Wednesdays at 10:30 am at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in the Parish Hall. Sebastopol Walks: History Walk

In a walk of about 1.5 miles in the southeast quadrant of Sebastopol, this History Walk will exemplify the theme of “That was Then, This is Now,” comparing what’s there now with what once was, through enlarged old photos from the archives. From the Plaza to Fircrest Market and back to the plaza, you will hear stories from the past. (Walk should finish by 11 am.) Leader: Donna Pitman, director of the West County Museum.
