Acting for Teens
Mondays, Oct. 30 – Nov. 27 (5 weeks), 4 to 6 pm at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. $200.
This class encourages spontaneity, creativity and fun as a way to authentically create a character. The class begins with ensemble-building exercises, improvisation games, as well as voice and movement techniques. As the course progresses, students will use short monologues to apply the techniques learned in previous sessions, as well as incorporate script analysis to truly hone their acting and storytelling abilities. Parks After Dark: Howl-O-Ween

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to hike Sonoma County parks at night? Join park staff for a special treat on Halloween to explore the howlers of darkness. During this exclusive after-hours program, we will hike 1 to 2 miles over moderate terrain, discovering nocturnal critters and bravely embracing moonlit spooks! Schulz Sonoma County Airport will be hosting a community outreach workshop on Thursday, Nov. 2, 6 to 7 pm at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. The airport has engaged a consulting firm to study the issue. They will be at the meeting. Let them know how you feel about the increased air traffic.

Wreaths make great gifts and the process of making them encourages you to get out into nature and forage. Create wreaths festooned with live and dried foliage. Unique elements like lichens, seaweed, stones, pine cones, seed pods, dried flowers, thistles, and shells will add a fun flair to your wreaths. You’ll learn how to create the base of the wreath with vines, how to incorporate bundles and elements with wire, adding delicate foliage with a hot glue gun. All materials will be provided.
