Social Service Day at Sebastopol Library
Tuesday, March 19, at 1:30 to 3 pm at the Sebastopol Library, 7140 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Visit Sebastopol Library every third Tuesday of the month for social service day, where organizations come to you in one place to better support community needs. This week's participants: West County Community Services (housing help) (bilingual); Redwood Empire Food Bank (calfresh / ebt sign ups); Micah’s Hugs (NARCAN education / fentanyl testing strips / xylazine drug tests); SHARE Sonoma County (creating genuine community in the form of home sharing, for elders, folks with disabilities & disaster victims); Legal Aid of Sonoma County (assisting with civil issues like evictions, domestic violence, and elder abuse); Nation’s Finest (serving veterans by providing wrap-around services, suicide prevention, employment and training resources).
Osmosis Spring Equinox Ritual
Tuesday, March 19, 8 to 9 am at Osmosis Day Spa Sanctuary, 209 Bohemian Hwy., Freestone. $25-$45.
The Osmosis Spring Equinox ritual goes beyond just a listening experience. It dissolves the distinction between audience, nature and performer as each person is invited to become an integral part of the enchantment. We gather on the bank of Salmon Creek in our meditative garden sanctuary as the day begins to awaken with the birds, frogs and fish. Get tickets.
Sebastopol City Council Meeting
Tuesday, March 19, at 6 pm at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
The city council will hear a presentation on the city budget by City Manager Don Schwartz, a request to waive fees for the Apple Blossom Festival, and a resolution calling for a cease fire in Gaza. See the agenda.
Spring Equinox Sound Bath Experience
Thursday, March 21, 7 to 8 pm at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. $30-$40.

Singing into the Light - Spring Equinox

Bring in the Spring Equinox with contemplative Taize/Chant led by Benjamin Mertz. Doors open at 6:30 pm. This is a benefit for St Stephen's Episcopal Church. Entry by donation at the door.
Perspective Gallery Inaugural Opening
Friday, March 22, 3 to 5 pm at the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 N. High St., Sebastopol. Free for members. $5 for non-members.
The Sebastopol Area Senior Center is excited to announce the inaugural opening of Perspectives – The Gallery at SASC! View photographs by the president of the Senior Center’s board, Gary Bachelor. He will be exhibiting work from his May Day 1971 series, as well as additional photos that document his interest and reflections on his life and surroundings. Reservations are highly recommended due to limited space.
Intro to Insect Identification with Kandis Gilmore
Saturday, March 23, 10 am to 3 pm at Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa. $35.
Are you a gardener, naturalist or budding scientist who would like to know more about how to identify insects? Enjoy a whirlwind tour through the major groups of insects and learn how to use key characteristics to identify insects to order. This workshop will cover the use of dichotomous keys, catch and release methods for viewing insects, best practices for photography and using apps to help with identification. The morning will be spent in the classroom and the second half of the day will be outdoors, observing insects we find at the wonderful native plant habitat garden on the Laguna Foundation grounds. Fundraiser to support Sebastopol Senior Center Day Trips
Saturday, March 23, 2 to 5 pm, at the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 N. High St., Sebastopol. $35.
The Sebastopol Senior Center wants to make sure their fabulous day trips are affordable so everyone has an opportunity to go. Come to a fundraiser/party/bash, hosted by Kate Roach and Emily Webster, our day trip coordinators. A Roaring 20s, bootlegging, rabble-rousing themed event with Mo's Art Jazz Trio, delicious hors d'oeuvres, wine and beer for sale. A shuttle bus service will transport you from the Sebastopol Art Center parking lot, if nearby parking is full. If you can’t make it, consider making a donation to the senior center and in the memo mention DAY TRIPS. Call us to register at 707-829-2440 if you are not a member. Get tickets.
