The return of The Familiar Strangers at Hopmonk
Wednesday, Dec. 28, 6 pm to 8:30 pm, at HopMonk Tavern, 230 Petaluma Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
The Familiar Strangers is offering this free show as a big thanks to all their fans who love good music, love to dance and want to help them celebrate the passing of this year and the welcoming of the next one. They’ll be playing rain or shine under the covered tent, with heaters blazing if needed, and the usual great food and adult beverages. Bring the fam!
Winging It Wednesdays
Wednesday, Dec. 28, 8:30 to 10:30 am at Ragle Ranch Regional Park, Sebastopol. Free.
Enjoy leisurely bird walks for all levels of experience on the last Wednesday of the month. These outings are designed especially for older adults to enjoy nature and each other’s company. Bring your binoculars or borrow a pair from us. Carpooling is encouraged. For more information, contact Zaira Sierra at zaira.sierra@sonoma-county.org. No registration is required. Please bring your own water and snacks. We recommend participants dress in layers and bring a hat and sunscreen. Most programs will happen rain or shine, but may be cancelled during heavy rains, heavy smoke, or extreme temperatures. Accommodations will be made for visitors with disabilities upon advance request. Parking is $7 or free with a Regional Parks membership.

New Year’s Eve Portal of Light Sound Bath
Saturday, Dec. 31, arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 for this 6 pm event, Sebastopol Community Center Youth Annex, 425 Morris Street, Sebastopol. $45.
Join Suzanne Smith, The Celestial Voice and Emrys Yucelen for a deep and expansive journey of sound. We will intuitively navigate the frequencies of four gongs, crystal singing bowls, flutes, hand pan, rav drums, native drums, monochord, ocean drums, koshi chimes, rain sticks, and shamanic vocals to create a magical soundscape. Please bring a yoga or camping mat, blanket and pillow to lie comfortably on the wooden floor. We ask that you arrive between 5:30 and 5:45 to set up your space. We will start promptly at 6pm. New Year’s Eve Sound Bath
Saturday, Dec. 31, 7 to 8 pm at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 500 Robinson Road, Sebastopol. $30-$60.
Flow into the New Year with a rejuvenating soundscape by Spring of Light and Kristina Michelle Ibarra, featuring the celestial sounds of gongs, singing bowls, flutes, chimes, and more, as we embark on a musical journey towards our silent center.. Please arrive early to get acquainted with the space. Please bring water, warm clothing and/or blankets, a pillow, and a mat if you'd like one. There will be seating as well as space on the ground for those who would like to lie on a yoga mat. You may also sit or stand outside and listen from there, as the doors and windows will be left open. A limited number of sliding scale tickets will be available at the door. Get advance tickets.

New Year’s Day Open House and Dance

Come celebrate the New Year with Redwood Rainbows Square Dance Club. Caller Steve Minkin will teach an Introduction to Social Square Dancing and other group-friendly caller dances starting at 4 pm.
