Sebastopol City Council Meeting – in person and online
Tuesday, March 7, 6 pm, at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris Street, Sebastopol.
The city council will be back in session in person for the first time since 2020. You can still attend online. Items on the agenda include the Palm Avenue improvement Projec; a discussion of the Taxpayer Protection and Government Accountability Act, which calls for stricter rules for raising taxes and fees; a discussion of whether or not to videotape and post budget committee meetings; the purchase of a new fire engine; and more. Watercolor Basics & Techniques
Wednesdays, March 8 - 29, 10 am-12 pm at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. $180.
The watercolor class will focus on skill and technique development: wash, color mixing, texture, and line. Beginning painters will practice developing a strong foundation. Advanced painters will benefit from new approaches to the basics and sharpen skills. Ages 16 and up. Four sessions. Reserve your spot.

Family Bike Workshop

Join the Bicycle Coalition’s certified cycling instructors for a fun workshop for parents and kids. Children must be able to ride a bike and be ready to take to the road with their parents. Intro to Letterpress Workshop
Sunday, March 12, 10 am to 2 pm at North Bay Letterpress Arts, 925-D Gravenstein Hwy South, Sebastopol. $100.
This is a wonderful four-hour workshop, perfectly designed for those who have wanted to explore letterpress printing. You will learn a brief history and overview of the process and equipment, as well as the fundamental tools and techniques. We waste no time and dive in with students putting ink on paper! This is done using our Ostrander iron hand press from 1890, which is basically modeled after the famous Gutenberg wooden hand press of 1450. Reserve your spot.
Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival 2023 Curtain Raiser
Sunday, March 12, 3 to 7 pm, at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center, 390 Morris Ave., Sebastopol. $50.
This special Curtain Raiser Event kicks off the 16th annual Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival. The centerpiece of the evening is the California premiere of Dusty & Stones, followed by a Q&A with director Jesse Rudoy. Dusty & Stones captures Swazi Country music duo Gazo "Dusty” Simelane and Linda “Stones” Msibi, aka Dusty & Stones, as they embark on a 10-day road trip through the American South after receiving a surprise invite to compete at a battle of the bands in Texas.
