Fall Prevention series: Medications and Fall Risk

Steven Levenberg, DO, will host a viewing of his Fall Prevention lecture, pausing to take questions from the audience and elaborating on points of interest. This is a great way to learn about what can be a complex and under-appreciated cause of falls in seniors.
Jewish Film Festival - Bella: This Woman's Place is in the House

Regina Guerra, founder of Be the Earth, presents on the emerging industry of Natural Organic Reduction (NOR), also known as body composting. This eco-conscious deathcare option has a smaller carbon footprint than conventional burial or cremation and helps to regenerate our soils.

Sonoma County Art Trails, one of the oldest juried annual open studio tours in the country, is celebrating its 40th year. This fall, 124 professional local artists from Healdsburg to Petaluma and Sonoma to the Coast will welcome visitors into their studios to see the paintings, prints, drawings, mixed media art, jewelry, sculpture, photography, fiber arts, ceramics, glass, and woodworking that make Sonoma County an art destination. Press Fest Celebration at Luther Burbank Experiment Farm
Saturday, Oct. 19, 11 am to 2 pm, at Luther Burbank Experiment Farm, 7777 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol.
Press Fest 2024 will feature apple tasting, demos of apple pressing using an antique apple press, community reservation-based apple pressing on the only free press in the United States, garden walks, docent tours, plant sales, expert gardening talks, live music, and more. The nursery sales will include fruit trees and perennials, and advice in building your productive and beautiful 2025 garden. The cider press will be operating from 11 am onwards, apple tasting will start at 11:30 am. Music from local folk band Jam Nation will begin at noon, and an expert talk on fruit tree care will begin at 1 pm. Press Fest at Luther Burbank Farm is a project by the Western Sonoma County Historical Society.

Join us for a poetry reading and book signing with Poet Laureate Enid Pickett. Enid will read from her recently published book of poetry, Through the Eyes of Enid, as she shares her powerful words and insights around the theme: What kind of ancestor are you going to be? This a free, in-person event will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, in the sanctuary, a sacred setting to connect with Enid and fellow poetry enthusiasts. Enid Pickett is a poet, writer, and teacher. With over 30 years of teaching experience, she has served as a master teacher at Sonoma State University and appeared at the San Francisco Jazz Center and The Raven Theater. Apple Tasting

Drop in noon to 3 pm, at the Sebastopol Grange Hall. Vote for your Top Ten. Approximately 50 different apples are divided into cider, culinary and dessert varieties. Not your typical grocery store varieties. The nonprofit California Redwood Rare Fruit Growers hosts this culinary experience annually while working to preserve genetic diversity.
Django Reinhardt Style Open Music Jam

This loose knit group of musicians gathers approximately monthly to play and share the style of swing music made famous by Django Reinhardt. This delightful music is not often played on commercial media but has stayed alive by being played in small groups, both in performance and informal jams.
