End of Life Choices
Monday, Jan. 6, 2 pm to 3 pm, at the Sebastopol Area Senior Center, 167 N. High St., Sebastopol. $5 – $10.
Mary Abbott, volunteer with End of Life Choices California (EOLCCA), will discuss the importance of sharing values and end-of-life wishes with loved ones; legal end-of-life options including California's End of Life Option Act (a law also known as medical aid in dying); and the resources and support provided by End of Life Choices California. Sebastopol City Council Meeting
Tuesday, Jan. 7, 6 pm, on Zoom and at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
The council will consider changing the city’s solid waste hauler from Recology to SCRR (expect controversy here). They will also discuss council committee assignments, adding funding for their internship program and authorizing the volunteer firefighter stipend program, as well as a reimbursement agreement with The Barlow for development consulting and a memorandum of understanding with the police union. Visionary musician and artist Brian Eno — a pioneer in the genre of ambient music, who has released more than 40 solo and collaboration albums and produced albums by David Bowie, U2, and Talking Heads, among many others—reveals his creative processes in Eno, a documentary directed by filmmaker Gary Hustwit. Improvising for Life
Wednesday, Jan. 8 to Feb. 12, 2 pm to 3 pm, Sebastopol Dance Art Space, 172 N. Main St., Sebastopol. $60.
Improv games will teach you how to be present, tap into your silly, imaginative, spontaneous, child-like self, stop worrying, and enjoy the present moment. Join the Sebastopol Senior Center and DeAnna Lam, an avid improviser who played and performed as part of improvisational groups for more than 15 years. This is a six-week series, for all ages. 3D Printing 101

In this class, you’ll learn how to print a model on a 3D Printer. This includes software used to prepare your model for printing, 3D printer filament types and strategies to ensure a successful final product. Fiber Arts/Sewing: Machine Basics

In this hands-on class, you will learn everything you need to set up your sewing machine for success. You will wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and learn how to adjust the machine settings. What are all of those stitches for? What do those attachments do and when should you use them? What kinds of threads and needles are appropriate? Learn the answers to these questions, and more, in this class! You will leave class with samples and notes, and a newly found confidence in using your sewing machine. If you don’t have your own machine, don’t worry, you can use ours. Dance party with all proceeds donated to the Gale family. Harry Gale, a beloved pillar of our Sonoma County music community, recently had a massive stroke, and the medical expenses are crushing. Harry has recorded hundreds of bands at his recording studio, Route 44, and is also a talented guitarist who has been in several local bands, including the Awesome Hotcakes. Get tickets.

I’m embarrassed. Some Sebastopol citizens have a life of such luxury that they ponder the aberrant beliefs that allow ignorance to appear as progressive.
We’re returning from two weeks in Singapore and most people of Sebastopol have no clue that they live in a third world country…
