Public Talk: Geology of Western Sonoma County
Monday, April 15 at 6 pm to 7:30 pm at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. Free.
Do you admire the gorgeous Sonoma Coast, full of awesome rock formations and steep cliffs? Do you ever wonder about the Russian River and when and how it formed? Do you enjoy the Laguna wetlands, and ponder why they are so unique? Wonder no more! Nicole Myers, a geologist who teaches at Sonoma State, will be giving a free public talk at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts. This talk is a project by the Western Sonoma County Historical Society. Attendees will learn about the geologic history of our beloved West County and come away awed, inspired, and reenergized to enjoy the world around us. Everyone is welcome! Reserve your spot.
Sebastopol City Council Meeting
Tuesday, April 16, 6 pm, at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.

Spring Starts Exchange at Sebastopol Grange

Earth Day at the Luther Burbank Experiment Farm in Sebastopol

Earth Day at the farm will feature garden tours, displays, demonstrations, and plant sales. Nursery sales will include garden plants and heirloom fruit trees, available only during our Earth Day celebration. Our gardening and fruit tree experts will be on-hand to discuss fruit tree planting and care and show our fruit tree nursery and 20-year-old apple espalier of 10-plus different varieties. Learn how to build soil health and reduce waste at home through our composting and vermiculture talk at 1 pm. The sun will be shining as we celebrate and help build our green future together.

Learn Bollywood Dancing with Rabia. Born in Mumbai, India, Rabia's passion for dance blossomed during her college years. While pursuing her studies in the U.S, she chose to minor in dance, a decision that ignited her curiosity to explore various dance forms from around the globe, with a particular emphasis on Bollywood and Bhangra from her homeland. Hot Buttered Rum

String bass and five-alarm fiddle merge with guitar, banjo, mandolin, drums and keyboards to frame the voices of its two contrasting writers, fueling a dance party with its roots in Appalachia and its branches in California. PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: Apple Blossom Parade and Festival. Folks come from miles around to enjoy the Apple Blossom Parade. Handmade floats, amazing animals, and colorful displays –a great, authentic, small-town experience. The 2024 parade starts at 10 am on Saturday, April 27, at Analy High School and runs straight down Main Street to end at Calder Avenue at noon. There’s even a pre-party the night before.
