Sebastopol City Council Meeting
Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 6 pm, at the Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
The council will discuss fee waivers for the Peacetown Summer Concert series ($5,000) and Many Moons Festival ($750). They will also consider approval of the Citywide Paving Improvement multi-year plan, including which streets will get fixed over the next year, and Library Reconstruction work in the amount of $74,250.They’ll also examine the work plans for various city commissions and committees. The hottest ticket of the evening will be the discussion of the Sebastopol Commons committee’s final report and their request for additional staff and attorney time ($40,000-$50,000) for a fiscal analysis of the City purchase of the O’Reilly buildings ($20 million dollars). Jewish Film Festival: The Stamp Thief

“The Stamp Thief” is part detective story, part heist film, and part untold history. The documentary investigates a tale dating back to the Holocaust: that a mysterious Nazi stole priceless stamp collections from concentration camp victims and buried the stolen stamps in a small town in Poland. Embarking on a real-life “Argo”-like adventure, one-time “Seinfeld” producer Gary Gilbert sets out to confirm the story and recover the stamps. His tactic: a fake movie shoot. His goal: to return the stamps to their rightful owners, hopefully delivering a small measure of justice more than 70 years after the Holocaust. Get tickets.

In early 2026, a team of filmmakers, including former Secretary of Labor Robert Reich, wondered what it would be like to invite 30- and 80-year-olds to gather in conversation about America. Mixed Media Collage Class
