Documentary: “Who Moves America” Screening and Q&A

“Who Moves America” follows a UPS driver in California casting his first strike vote, a Teamster in New York who walked the picket line during the historic 1997 strike, and a warehouse worker in Kentucky balancing night shifts with community college. As they and their co-workers organize, argue, and campaign across the country, the film builds toward a single, high-stakes vote: accept the deal, or risk everything for a strike that could reshape the American economy. Sebastopol City Council Meeting

The Sebastopol City Council this week has a very full agenda. The police chief will give the city council a report on an emergency use of surveillance technology (license plate reader) that happened July 30. A city ordinance requires this kind of report within 60 days whenever surveillance tech is used in this way. The council will also discuss the Pitt Ave. racist graffiti incident and consider establishing a “City Council Ad Hoc Committee to Address Racism and Social Bullying.” Council members will also consider lowering the minimum age for the Climate Action Committee’s youth seat from 17 to 15 and examine zoning options for outdoor commercial barbecues like A&M.
