Reuse and Repair Carbon Conversation

This Carbon Conversation will explore Repair & Reuse with Phoebe Schenker, executive director of Santa Rosa’s Reuse Alliance. Learn how saving money can have multiple benefits from environmental solutions to better community resiliency to growing skills and a circular local economy. Phoebe will also give an update on the status of Right-to-Repair Legislation and its implications. 6:30pm – mingle and meet local Reuse & Repair organizations/businesses. 7 pm – Speaker Phoebe Schenker of Reuse Alliance. Analy High School Screwballs Comedy Night Fundraiser
Saturday, March 9. Doors open at 5 pm, show starts at 7 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 373 N. Main St., Sebastopol. Couples ticket: $120; single ticket: $65.
A comedy night fundraising event benefiting the Analy High School Baseball Team. Each ticket gets: entry to the show (three comedians); pulled pork sandwiches or a vegetarian option, coleslaw; beverage. Drinks, raffle prizes, and silent auction. The money will go toward the building of an indoor hitting facility. Get tickets.
Fiber Arts/Sewing: Machine Basics
Class starts Saturday, March 9, 10 am, at Chimera Arts and Maker Space, 6791 Sebastopol Ave., Sebastopol. $75.
In this hands-on class you will learn everything you need to set up your sewing machine for success. You will wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and learn how to adjust the machine settings. What are all of those stitches for? What do those attachments do and when should you use them? What kinds of threads and needles are appropriate? Sonoma County Bluegrass & Folk Festival
Saturday, March 9, noon to 10 pm at Sebastopol Community Cultural Center, 390 Morris St., Sebastopol. $45.
Enjoy a day full of music starting when doors open at 12 pm for jamming with local musicians on the community center grounds and Youth Annex. Then things officially kick off in the Main Hall with 3 Acre Holler, followed by six more acts making a splash in the bluegrass, old time and folk music scene, including Phil Salazar & Tom Corbett, Mike Beck, Modern Hicks, The Crooked Jades, The Town Howlers and Broken Compass Bluegrass. Caro Pierotto Brazilian Music

From the moment she strikes her first note, singer Caro Pierotto captures the audience with her presence and vintage voice. Her most recent album, 'Sambalismo,' released in May 2023, has been cited as one of the Brazilian music albums of the year. Caro will sing originals and covers in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

Django Reinhardt Style Open Music Jam

Musicians gather to play Django Reinhardt era swing music on unamplified instruments for mutual enjoyment, mostly from the Django Fakebook 2008 pdf available for free on the web. Usual instruments include bass, guitar, violin, mandolin. It is an open jam. Some frequent participants are professional musicians, others are amateurs. Learners and listeners are welcome.
Academy Awards Night at the Rialto
