Police Department Community Meeting
Monday, Oct. 23, 5 pm at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center, 390 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
Please join Police Chief Ron Nelson and Captain Jim Hickey for a community meeting and discussion about the City of Sebastopol's 'Governing Body Specific Equipment Use' ordinance. We will have one of our less-than-lethal shotguns and bean bag projectile rounds on display for viewing and will be available to answer questions and address any public concerns surrounding the use of this device.

Volunteers and staff from Girl Scouts of Northern California will be available to answer any questions you may have about Girl Scouts and getting involved. Silent Peace Vigil for the Middle East
Wednesday, Oct. 25, from 6 pm to 6:30 pm at the Peace Wall, corner of McKinley and Laguna Parkway.
The violence and terror and trauma and loss of life, all lives, in the Middle East, is unbearable. Please join us for a half hour silent vigil, next to the Peace Wall in Sebastopol, between the town plaza and the Rialto movie theater. No songs, no spoken prayers, no signs, no debating. We will stand (or bring a chair if you need to sit), from 6:00 until 6:30pm this Wednesday the 25th, and every Wednesday, mourning all the lives lost, in the hope of more peaceful days to come.

Full Moon Adventure for Families

Join the fun of a drop-in, stay-as-long-as-you-like walk through the oak woodland of Lower Stone Farm along the Laguna de Santa Rosa. Laguna Foundation staff and volunteers will welcome you and provide an adventure booklet that will guide your explorations. They will also be stationed at special activities throughout the site to lead activities. Reserve your spot.
Halloween Extravaganza at Horse and Plow

Horse and Plow's final event of the year! This very special Halloween concert will feature local favorites the John Courage Trio, Gil Brothers Band, and Schlee. Find a ghost in downtown shops. Fill out your Ghost tracker. If you find them all, you’ll win a Gift Certificate to Toyworks! Pick up your Ghost tracker at Silk Moon Gallery and drop off completed form at The Chamber of Commerce at 265 S. Main St. Open to children and adults. Seasonal Natural Dye Workshop

Dye plants have been used for thousands of years in arts and crafts and are just as relevant today as in the past. Whether your creative process includes weaving, embroidery, knitting, hooking, stitching, mending, sewing or any of the other creative ways to explore fiber, this class is for you. Natural colors can be vivid to subtle and can be manipulated for color value, hue and saturation. Using natural dyes can also reduce our impact on the environment and teach us more about our landscape, botany, chemistry and native plants. $200 + $20 materials fee. Teacher: Sue Ellen McCann. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to hike Ragle at night? Join park staff for a special treat on Halloween to explore the howlers of darkness. During this exclusive after-hours program, we will hike 1 to 2 miles over moderate terrain, discovering nocturnal critters and bravely embracing moonlit spooks!
