Candle Magick with Phoenix LeFae

Meet Your Neighbors (MYN): Emergency Preparedness
Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Sebastopol Fire Station, 7425 Bodega Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
The MYN Class discusses emergency preparedness actions and emergency response steps that many in the Sebastopol area have been adopting. Although much of the emergency information is well publicized nationally and locally, what the MYN Class really promotes is working together with our neighbors on implementing the information. The neighborhood approach to preparing for and responding to emergencies improves resilience for all involved.

Acorn MusEcology presents Side by Side: Songs in Conversation

Directed by Sarah Dupre, the Acorn MusEcology Project is 20-voice choral ensemble sharing music that explores our collective role as caretakers in our relationship with the Earth. In our 2023 fall concert series, we pair songs sharing a common subject or lyricist, with original and selected settings of poems by Kim Stafford, Kathleen Lynch, Jane Kenyon, Dana Gioia, and Terry Tempest Williams. Join us for a musical conversation featuring magpies and marsh grasses, foxes and field mice, toy pianos and whale songs. The program (one hour and fifteen minutes, with no intermission) will be preceded by complementary refreshments and sunset colors on the beautiful Heron Hall patio overlooking the Laguna.
