Tour of Hale’s Apple Farm and Hard Cider Tasting at Horse & Plow

City Council Meeting
Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6 pm to 10:30 pm, at Sebastopol Youth Annex, 425 Morris St., Sebastopol. Free.
At this meeting the council will choose a facilitator for their February Goals and Priorities Workshop, discuss proposed policies for selection of mayor and vice mayor, choose a council liaison to explore opportunities for the formation of a West County Homeless and Mental Health assistance program. In addition, the council will consider approving a resolution between the City of Sebastopol and the Gold Ridge Fire Protection District, consenting to the annexation of the city’s fire and emergency medical services by Gold Ridge. Worried about Airplane Noise? Come to the Airport Approach Community Workshop
Wednesday, Oct. 2, 6 pm to 8 pm, at Analy High School Gymnasium, 6950 Analy Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
This workshop will provide an opportunity for interested citizens to view in-depth information gathered during the approach study. The approach study was commissioned to analyze air traffic patterns and make recommendations on safe and noise-sensitive approaches and departures.
Alejandro Brittes Trio: Masters of Chamamé

Enjoy an enchanting evening with Brazil-based Argentine composer and accordionist Alejandro Brittes, celebrated by The Boston Globe as a “premier exponent of Chamamé.” Brittes masterfully navigates the temporal universe of his music with his accordion, creating a sensory experience that feels almost tangible. His performances delve deep into his Chamamé heritage, an ancestral rhythm that connects us with the Earth and the universe through music and dance. Get tickets.
Watercolor Basics: Choose the Wednesday or Saturday series
Wednesdays, Oct. 2 - 23 (four sessions), 10 am to 12 pm, or Saturdays, Oct. 5-12 (two sessions), 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 South High St., Sebastopol.
These watercolor classes will focus on skill and technique development: wash, color mixing, texture, and line. Beginning painters will practice developing a strong foundation. Advanced painters will benefit from new approaches to the basics and sharpened skills. Discussion will focus on the elements of visual art: light, form, color, and texture. $200 for 4-class series on Wednesdays; $100 for 2-class series on Saturday. Reserve your spot.
Native Plant Garden Volunteer Day
Friday, Oct. 4, 9 am to noon, at Laguna Environmental Center, 900 Sanford Road, Santa Rosa. Free, but registration required.
Share your passion for pollinators by helping the Laguna Center’s native plant garden thrive! Volunteers are essential in beautifying this site. Activities include planting, weeding, spreading wood chips, and looking for Monarchs on milkweed! No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn about native plants. Training and tools will be provided, plus abundant and hearty snacks! Wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty. Only heavy rain cancels. Register here.
First Fridays at Chimera Arts
Friday, Oct. 4, 5 pm to 8 pm, at Chimera Art Space, 6791 Sebastopol Ave., Sebastopol. Free.
Chimera Arts, Sonoma County’s maker space, continues their First Fridays at Chimera Arts, a showcase of the local maker community. There will be live music, food and beverages, live demonstrations and hands-on activities. Entrance is free. Food and beverages are included for a nominal charge.
WOW: Women on Wheels
Saturday, Oct. 5, 7 am to 2 pm. Start at Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 S. High St., Sebastopol. $65-$120.
This inaugural event co-hosted by Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition (SCBC) and Santa Rosa Cycling Club (SRCC) will benefit SCBC and women-oriented charities and showcase products from women-owned businesses, including food at our rest stops and the after party. The ride is open to women/girls only. Three different lengths: short ride (12 miles), a 50K (38-mile) ride, and 100K (60-mile) ride. Sign up by Oct. 1.

The DIY Dream Oracle Workshop + Sound Healing

This workshop begins with a dynamic talk on dream interpretation, which will offer some basic dreamwork techniques. Enjoy into a sound healing/visioning. Explore your dreams and images. Bring a dream to work on or vision one up during the sound healing. Finally, make your own dream oracle card.
