Produce Exchange and Food Preservation Class
Tuesday, Sept. 12, 5 pm (produce exchange), 6 pm (class), at the Sebastopol Grange, 6000 Sebastopol Ave. (Hwy. 12), Sebastopol. Free.
The final class in this free series will follow the 5 pm Produce Exchange, where home gardeners can trade or donate surplus produce and starts. The food preservation demo - How to Preserve Tomato Salsa - will be held in the Grange kitchen at 6 pm and will run for approximately one hour. Attendees are invited to bring their picnic dinner for a community-building meal time after the demo.

The Luther Burbank Experiment Farm in Sebastopol is celebrating an incredible apple harvesting year with free activities on Saturday, Sept. 16. With support from Slow Food Russian River, the Press Fest 2023 will feature garden walks, docent tours, demos of apple pressing, plant sales, apple tasting, and more. The nursery sales will include fruit trees and perennials, and advice in building your productive and beautiful garden for the coming year. Apple tasting from 1 to 2 pm. Press Fest is a project of the Western Sonoma County Historical Society.
Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Celebration Day

Come to a free informational presentation of Braver Angels, a national grassroots nonprofit organization working to bridge our political divide by transforming our attitudes toward each other. Russian Riverkeeper is looking forward to gathering again with you to show the river some love and care as the summer comes to a close. The September cleanup is the largest of the year and helps remove trash that accumulates over the summer months on the Russian River. This year, there will be teams across the watershed from Ukiah to Monte Rio, all contributing with the shared mission of protecting our river and ocean from trash pollution. More info here.
