Sebastopol Grange Monthly Meeting

Everyone is invited to join the grangers on Tuesday, Nov. 28, for their monthly meeting. Please bring a potluck dish to share and your own dishes. To celebrate five years of the Grange Produce Exchange and the addition of several new food center programs, Carol and Dena will present a short slideshow, highlighting the history and evolution of the Sebastopol Grange’s hyper-local food programs.
Sebastopol Mideast Peace Vigil

Exhibition on Screen: Klimt and the Kiss

Painted in Vienna around 1908, The Kiss is an evocative image of an embracing couple. It has captivated viewers with its mystery, sensuality and dazzling materials ever since it was created. But just what lies behind the appeal of the painting – and just who was the artist that created it? Delving into the details of real gold, decorative designs, symbolism and simmering erotica, a close study of the painting takes us to the remarkable turn-of-the-century Vienna when a new world was battling with the old. Holiday Wreath Making
Saturday, Dec. 2, 10 am to 12:30 pm at Pelikan Spring Farm, 320 Furlong Road, Sebastopol. $75.
Design and create your own one-of-a-kind holiday wreath using a variety of greens, cones, holly and herbs. All supplies are provided and no experience necessary. Instruction will be provided by Ellyn Pelikan, floral designer and wreath maker. Class size 6 people. Please bring clippers. Class will be outdoors weather permitting, dress warmly. Class suitable for ages 13 and up. Get tickets.
Docent Tour at Hidden Forest Botanical Reserve
Saturday, Dec. 2, 10:30 am to 12:00 pm at 3970 Azalea Lane, Sebastopol. Free.
Come see unique and rarely seen plants in a horticultural sanctuary. Tours focus on unique botanical wonders and seasonal highlights. Wear sturdy shoes, appropriate clothing for the weather, and be prepared to be awed and inspired by nature’s beauty and diversity. Tour attendees receive a 20% discount on plants at the Hidden Forest Nursery. Please respect neighbors by driving slowly down our lane. Tours are held on the first and third Saturdays of the month.
Children's Program: Stories and Scenes from the Nutcracker

The Sebastopol Ballet Company presents scenes from their upcoming performance of The Nutcracker along with a reading of the book by our local librarian. Children will be able to participate in a dance-along with the ballerinas after the performance! Perfect for children ages 2-5.

The Bowl

Join SebARTS for The Bowl at Sebastopol Center for the Arts! This event benefits the Documentary Film Festival and the Ceramics Department. Choose your custom-made bowl created by a Sebastopol Center for the Arts Ceramicist. Your hand-thrown bowl will be filled with a delicious entre made by a local chef. Enjoy your keepsake bowl and delicious food while viewing a film presented by the Sebastopol Documentary Film Festival. What a great way to spend a Sunday evening! Get tickets.
PEEK INTO NEXT WEEK: Sebastopol’s Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held on Thursday, Dec. 7, starting at 5 pm in the town plaza. Performances by The Analy High School Jazz Band, Sebastopol Ballet, The Love Choir, Mr Music and, of course SANTA’s arrival on the Fire Truck! Plus goat-petting station, kids crafts and face painting.

Chimera is hosting a First Friday Holiday Market featuring art, jewelry, crafts, and handmade goods by local artists. Musical guests include the superb pairing of local jazz greats Dave MacNab (guitar) with Steve Rubardt (keyboard). You won’t want to miss this chance to see these amazing talents in the intimate setting of the Chimera workspace. If you are a jazz fan, you will be blown away.
