The Sebastopol Women's March, a new look for the police, where to get farm-fresh eggs and more
The Sebastopol Women’s March 2025
On Saturday, March 8, International Women’s Day, around 80 protestors marched Sebastopol style—which is to say, they stood on the four corners of Highways 116 and 12, waving signs. Some folks marched around the crosswalks to give it that, you know, march-like feel. It was a bright blue, sunny day and a good day for protest.

Sebastopol Police have a sexy new look—and, no, we’re not talking about the new chief
From the City of Sebastopol Facebook earlier this week:
This coming week you may notice some of our patrol vehicles will have a new look. As older vehicles go out of service, our silver Ford Explorers wil be replaced by the classic municipal police black-and-white style.
The change is not just an aesthetic one. It has become more cost effective to purchase black patrol vehicles than the silver ones. New vehicles will be hybrids, leading to fuel savings and a reduced carbon footprint.
As black-and-whites are commonly associated with police vehicles, they will increase visibility of our officers, which can enhance a sense of safety and can have an impact on traffic behavior as well. What do we all do when we see a black-and-white? Slow down, hands at ten-and-two, always use our signal, etc., right?
As silver police cars are uncommon, we have had instances where people were not totally convinced we are the police, even with the flashing red and blue lights. It's happened on more than a few occasions when sworn police officers were mistaken for security guards.
Plus, look how pretty it is!
It will take some time until the whole fleet is converted to the new scheme, as the vehicles in our fleet are gradually retired from service, so you will still see our silver vehicles on patrol as well.
We may have a new look, but have the same goal of providing the best law enforcement services to our community!
Nice interview with Laura on KRCB
Laura spoke with KRCB reporter Noah Abrams on Thursday about the community’s recent stand for press freedom at the Sebastopol City Council. Listen here.
Slight correction to the interview: I say in the broadcast that Mayor Zollman remained in the press policy as “spokesperson for the city council” rather than “spokesman for the city of Sebastopol.” While that was discussed on the dais, it didn’t make it into the final motion.
Having trouble finding eggs?
There are egg shortages nationwide (and at the local Trader Joe’s), but that doesn’t seem to be a problem in West County. It’s spring (well, almost), and chickens are popping out eggs like there’s no tomorrow. Lots of folks with farms or just backyard chickens have eggs for sale on Nextdoor.
A case in point: Cierra W. at Mt. Vernon Farm & Market. She offers farm-fresh eggs daily: one dozen chicken eggs for $5 and one dozen duck eggs for $8.
“I’m excited to welcome you to Mt. Vernon Farm & Market,” Cierra says in her Nextdoor profile. “Growing up on a small family farm in Santa Rosa ignited my passion for agriculture, and now, living in beautiful Sebastopol, I’m thrilled to bring my dream of sharing my harvest with the community to life.”
Her self-serve stand is at 3741 Mt. Vernon Road in Sebastopol. It’s open dawn to dusk. Accepting Venmo, PayPal and cash.

Photos of the gullible people who still watch the Propaganda News stations? Not sure that this is news, unless you're mocking them. Is this article satire?
I loved the sign about getting an introvert out to demonstrate.
