I believe the article has a misprint. The cost of the website should have been $3,500, correct? Why would anyone approve a $35K quote for a WordPress website?

Not a misprint.

Thank you, Laura.

Unfortunately the new site seems a quick copy and paste job, full of spelling errors and outdated 2022 information, as in the Climate Action Committee section.

I believe that you as a member of the climate action committee will soon have the ability to update this site. I know that one of the reasons they chose a WordPress site was to make it easier for staff – and perhaps committee members – to update the site.

My understanding is that staff is reticent to have the committee edit that information. With the budget constraints it may take weeks if not months to have this corrected.

For 35K the developers should be held accountable for this hack job. Was their contract ever put out for bid?

Yes, they released an RFP. I almost applied for it but had my hands full with Relaunch.

I think CAC should appoint one person to be the updater. I think the city might be OK with that. Something to suggest at least.

Given the dire situation of the City budget that would certainly be a improvement, but it would address only a small part of the website.

There is still the responsibility of the company who took on this project and needs to deliver a sound result.
