Research on the decline of the fog bank along the California Coast was started in West County more than 15 years ago. Now, a new grant is spurring further investigation into the fate of the fog.
Awesome article! In my middle age I have rediscovered a strong love for science, and I'd love to see more coverage of the science being done here in West County.
Great write up and read out! Very clear and informative. One question, it didn't sound from the article like any of the new funding was being used to measure at the Grove of the Old Trees, Occidental? Would be great to compare to the old data from 13 years ago.
The cutting down of trees, which catch fog, and their replacement by vineyards, rapidly accelerated the drying and warming of our area. We are now in a different growing zone because of it.

PS: was a beautiful foggy morning today!

Fascinating article. Good to hear that the research data will pick up again now. Here's hoping we can find ways to rebuild our fog bank account!
