Grocery Outlet Community Information Meeting

Grocery Outlet is hoping to open a new store in the old Rite Aid building on Main Street. They are coming to Sebastopol again this week to talk to residents in advance of applying to the city of Sebastopol for a use permit. They need to apply for a use permit because the city of Sebastopol has a formula business ordinance that is intended to keep chain stores out of downtown. Free Tax Preparation

AARP Tax-Aide will be providing free tax preparation on Tuesdays beginning Feb. 3 through April 14 at the Veterans Building/Sebastopol Center for the Arts, 282 High St., Sebastopol. You do not need to be a senior or a member of AARP to use our service. We have no age or income restrictions. Jago: Into the White

Sebastopol City Council meeting

The Sebastopol City Council will hear the quarterly update from the Building the Commons Committee and second quarter financial updates for the General Fund and Enterprise Funds. There will also be a public hearing on the updates to the Formula Business Ordinance. Also on the agenda are a mid-year budget amendment, approval of a contract for a new director of public works and creation of a Sebastopol Women-led Business Owners Celebration & Networking Evening. Keenan Webster: Afro Roots World Music

Experience the sounds of West African music with Keenan Webster who uses music to bring people together. Webster is influenced by music giants John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Taj Mahal, El Hadj Kouyate, Toumani Diabate, Robert Johnson, Slip James, Johnny Shines, Habib, Koite and Keltigue Diabate. The music traditions of Latin America, Sumatra and India also infiltrate his style.
Spoken Word Poetry

Pop-Up Valentines Day Cards

Explore the foundations of pop-up design and paper cutting while creating one of a kind pop-up valentines for loved ones. Students will learn foundational folds for pop-up elements and then create their own valentines. Sol Horizon: Three-day Bob Marley Tribute

Sol Horizon has been Sonoma County’s best reggae band and Northern California’s premier Bob Marley tribute band. The band was voted “Best Band” in the North Bay Bohemian’s “Best of the North Bay” Reader’s Picks in 2022 and 2023 and awarded the NorBay Award for “Best Reggae Band” in the North Bay nine times, including the last five years in a row. Their renowned Bob Marley tribute pays homage to the global voice of reggae, celebrating his life and legacy through performances of his greatest music. Focusing on recognizing and treating life-threatening situations in the critical minutes before 911 arrives, this class will cover adult and infant CPR, AED use and handling choking, as well as what to do in cases of severe bleeding, sudden illness, heart attack, stroke and more.
