I always thought the tree weird but I am not a tree expert. What came out in the meeting was that the supposed dangers of the tree, large (as in huge head sized) cones and spikes fronds have never harmed anyone in the history of that tree. I prefer native species but this exotic has been there over 100 years being weird and harmless.
Thank you for covering our city council meetings in such detail. As a 25 year resident of Sebastopol, I am sad to see the city in such a poor financial shape. From as strategic planning perspective, this is a huge fail for past city council members and city financial managers. I remain optimistic that our city can find the right ways to tighten it’s belt, shed any waste, fraud and abuse and increase any absolutely essential revenues through progressive taxation vs regressive taxes, such as the sales tax. What ideas do others have to help Sebastopol increase financial strength without burdening those who don’t have much more to give?

Thank you for your endeavors and accomplishments to inform we citizens.
Yea! The tree is saved! I hope that Luther Burbank did plant it and he is up in heaven clapping! 👏

I am in favor of the sales tax increase. Especially if the city uses some of the money to fix the potholes on our street!
